Our Story

Malta Dynamics was born in 2015 in the world of workplace safety, on construction sites, in refineries, and at heights where mistakes can change lives. From day one, our mission was simple: build better fall protection that was safer, stronger, more comfortable, and designed to be equipment real people would actually want to wear, not simply tolerate.
Since then, Malta Dynamics has grown into one of America's leading workplace fall protection companies, engineering, testing, and manufacturing equipment used by contractors, manufacturers, utility workers, industrial professionals, and the people who build America's infrastructure.
But there was another part of the story taking shape at the same time.
The same people designing fall protection equipment during the week were climbing into tree stands on the weekend. We are tree stand hunters and whitetail hunters. We are the guys getting into the woods before daylight, sitting through cold mornings, hanging stands, moving setups, and trusting our equipment every time our feet leave the ground.
Season after season, we found ourselves wearing many of the same uncomfortable, awkward, "good-enough" harnesses hunters had been wearing for years. From the stand, we would talk about what we would change, sometimes joking and sometimes completely serious.
Why was hunting fall protection so different from the equipment we worked with every day? Why shouldn't a tree stand harness receive the same attention to engineering, materials, fit, comfort, testing, and product development? And why should hunters have to settle?
By 2022, we decided they shouldn't.
Rather than accept what was already available, we took what we knew about professional fall protection and applied it to the way hunters actually hunt. The goal was not workplace equipment with a camouflage pattern or an old design with a new label. It was to build something purpose-built for the woods.
That idea became Malta Hunting Safety.
We Start With Safety
Most hunting brands begin with hunting and learn safety. Malta begins with safety because safety was never a new category for us to enter. It was already our profession.
That difference shapes how we approach every product we build. We do not take workplace equipment, change the color, and call it hunting gear. We use years of experience in fall protection, PPE, engineering, testing, and product development to create purpose-built hunting harnesses, tree stand lifelines, climbing ropes, lineman's ropes, carabiners, and fall protection equipment designed specifically for hunters.
The woods are not a controlled environment. Hunters climb in the dark. They wear gloves and heavy layers. They hunt in rain, snow, wind, and cold. They carry bows, firearms, packs, climbing sticks, and stands. They get tired, change setups, and sometimes make honest mistakes. Our equipment has to account for those realities because that is where it will actually be used.
Every product carrying the Malta Hunting Safety name should solve a real problem. Whether we are developing a lightweight hunting harness, improving a tree stand lifeline, refining a rope system, or designing a new climbing accessory, we come back to the same questions: Does it make the hunter safer? Does it solve a genuine need? Is there a better way to build it? And most importantly, would we trust it with ourselves and our own families?
If the answer is no, we keep working.
Engineering First
We believe passing a test is only the beginning. Engineering drives our product development, and we are not interested in building something simply because it matches what is already on the market.
We continually evaluate materials, harness construction, rope configurations, hardware, fit, functionality, weight, comfort, and performance. When testing shows us there is a better solution, we change direction and build it. That philosophy sometimes leads us to decisions that are neither the easiest nor the least expensive, but those decisions are part of doing the job the right way.
We would rather rethink a product than release something we would not personally trust. To us, that is what engineering means. It is not a marketing phrase printed on a package. It is the process behind the product.
Built for the Way Hunters Actually Hunt
Fall protection has to work in the real world. A tree stand harness can provide protection on paper, but if it is unnecessarily bulky, uncomfortable, difficult to adjust, or constantly getting in the hunter's way, it becomes equipment they are less likely to wear consistently.
We believe fit, comfort, mobility, simplicity, and protection all have to work together. A harness should move naturally with the hunter. A lifeline should be simple to understand and use. A lineman's rope should feel intuitive when you're working around a tree. Hardware should function when you're wearing gloves. Your equipment should make sense at 5:30 in the morning in the dark just as much as it does when you're looking at it in the garage.
That is why comfort is more than a convenience. Comfortable equipment gets worn, and equipment that fits well, moves naturally, stays out of the way, and gives hunters confidence is more likely to become part of every hunt.
Our goal is to continue bringing more of what we know from professional fall protection into the woods through lighter equipment, smarter systems, better comfort, and protection hunters can trust.
Proof Over Promises
Hunters do not need another company making bigger claims. They need equipment they can trust.
That is why we would rather show the thinking behind a product than simply tell you it is better. We test, demonstrate, explain, and listen. We listen to hunters, ambassadors, retailers, and the people actually using our products in the field, then take what we learn back to our engineering and product teams and keep improving.
We do not believe in using fear to sell fall protection, chasing gimmicks, or making exaggerated promises. Our credibility comes from real-world experience, thoughtful engineering, testing, field validation, and a profession built around protecting people at height.
Trusted Across the Hunting Industry
That approach is helping Malta Hunting Safety earn a place alongside some of the most recognized names in the outdoor industry.
Today, Malta Hunting Safety harnesses, tree stand lifelines, ropes, and fall protection equipment are available through major outdoor retailers including Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, SCHEELS, and MidwayUSA, making Malta products available to hunters across the country.
We are also proud to work with respected names throughout the hunting community, including Gregg Ritz of Hunt Masters and Michael Waddell and the Bone Collector team. We value relationships with people who genuinely hunt, understand the importance of safety at height, and can provide meaningful feedback from years spent in the field.
Those partnerships are about more than attaching a familiar face to a product. They give us another opportunity to listen, learn, educate hunters, demonstrate our equipment, and continue earning trust throughout the hunting community.
More Than Another Hunting Brand
Malta Hunting Safety is not trying to become another company with a catalog full of hunting gear. We are building a brand hunters can trust when they leave the ground.
We build for hunters who value quality over gimmicks and appreciate craftsmanship, thoughtful engineering, and products built for a reason. They may be climbing into a tree stand before sunrise, hanging a new setup on the back side of the property, or introducing their son or daughter to hunting for the first time. Whatever the hunt looks like, the equipment they trust deserves careful consideration.
That is the responsibility we bring to every hunting harness, lifeline, rope, carabiner, and piece of tree stand fall protection we develop.
Despite everything that has changed since Malta Dynamics began in 2015, one thing has not: we are still those same guys in the tree stand. We simply refuse to settle for "good enough" anymore.
So we will keep testing, listening, improving, and applying what we know about professional fall protection to the realities hunters face in the woods.
Because the goal has never been to simply make more hunting products.
It's to raise the standard for hunting safety.
